Finally...

Here are some pictures from Disneyland. We had so much fun and Jonathan still loves looking at the pictures and talking about it.

This is a roller coaster that was in Toon Town. Jonathan rode it over and over. He loved it. This may have been his favorite ride! (J and Michael are in the very last car)

Him meeting Mickey was pretty magical. Jonathan walked right up to Mickey and gave him a huge hug. Any chance we got to see Mickey Jonathan wanted to give him a hug. :)

Here he is showing off the buttons he got.

Jonathan's first movie he watched all the way through was Cars (only a few weeks before we went to Disneyland). He still loves watching it and talks about "Lightning BaQueen" and Mater all the time. Needless to say he loves that we actually met them! (although he was pretty terrified of Mater)

And here's our little family at the happiest place on earth.

We had a lot of fun. Hopefully that wasn't the first and last time we'll go. Jonathan thinks that we'll be going every year on his birthday. I told him that he needs to get a job so we can afford to do it! :)

I Can't Believe It

It's official. Jonathan is three! He turned 3 on the 3rd so it was his golden birthday. We decided to go all out and took the family to Disneyland. It was so much fun! I'll post pictures soon. My favorite part was watching Jonathan meet Mickey Mouse. It truly was magical.

We love our little man!

Yoyo

He loves his aunt Yoyo!

It's really fun watching him lately because he likes to do exactly what other people are doing. He was standing just like Michael was as we were talking to a friend the other day (leaning against the car with his leg crossed)... On the flipside I have to be more careful what I do because he's watching. I noticed him doing our whole timeout routine with one of his toys two days ago... at least it ended with an "I love you" and a kiss. :-)

Simple Math

Jonathan + glitter chalk + puddle = bath time!!

Stinker

Here's how I found him the other day... at least he was prepared with a flashlight!

This handsome boy is ready for the game tonight. Go Cougars!!

Helping Grandpa

Jonathan and grandpa have a special relationship. Jonathan loves to come visit and my dad loves it just as much. Tonight they are working in the garden together. Grandpa makes work fun. :-)

Chocolate

Today Jonathan and I went with Celeste to the Mrs. Cavanaugh's chocolate factory. It was only $1 per person and was lots of fun. I enjoyed learning how chocolate is made and seeing how they do it, but the best part was the samples! Some of the quotes on the walls were funny too!

Hide and Seek

This morning Jonathan was playing Hide and Seek with Yoyo (Niki). He hid behind her blinds. He fit perfectly behind them... too bad for the sun shining in from behind him. :-)

"I want to smell to those flowers!"

Jonathan stopped to admire these pretty flowers. He's a lot of fun and loves to learn new things. He's a sponge and soaks everything up!

Hokulia

These may be my favorite sno cones. And this one is as big as Jonathan's head! He loved it! Mmmmm.

Eliza

Jonathan has a new friend here in Springville. He loves playing with Eliza. We've been going to the library with her for story time and that's why he loves going every week! Anytime we drive or walk by her house (which is almost daily) he excitedly points and says, "here's Eliza's house!" This morning she was outside so we stopped to play. It is fun watching them pushing their strollers around and laughing.

Thanks library for the stamp. :-)

Lost Hat

We lost Jonathan's hat this past weekend and that means we can't venture outside during the day. With his fair skin our rule if we want to go outside is he has to wear a hat and sunscreen.

The plan was to go this morning to buy a new hat... well we forgot to change the carseat back over to my car so Jonathan and I have been stuck at home all day. He decided not to take a nap so it's been making for a tough afternoon.

He just came up to me and said, "I want to go outside mommy."

I told him we couldn't because we lost his hat. He then looked at his daddy's golf stuff and ran and grabbed his hat and put it on. Then I got this look that said, "I've got a hat... now let's go!"

Love this kid!

Big Boy Bed Take 2

We inherited a bunk bed while we were living up at my sister's house so when we came back to Springville we scrapped the office and made a second bedroom. Last week there were two nights that Michael and I tried to put Jonathan to bed on the bottom bunk. Both nights he ended up back in his crib within about 10 minutes. I told Michael I didn't think Jonathan was ready yet so we went back to his crib. Tonight after not very long in his crib he asked to go in his "big boy bed". Michael took him and got him settled. After about 30 minutes he was asleep. He never got up, just talked to himself for awhile. Hopefully he stays in bed all night!

Fail

Well Jonathan just traded the green piece of paper on the left for the four coins on the right. He'll learn... I hope sooner than later. :-)

New Running Partner

My running partner moved a couple weeks ago. It was very sad. I've made myself go everyday on either a run or walk. Jonathan loves being outside and I enjoy the exercise. Yesterday I chose to walk. Well Jonathan wasn't happy about that decision and he sure let me know. He started getting upset and telling me to "go faster" and to "run!"

Today he must have been proud of my decision to run because this cute face turned around when I was one mile into my three and a half mile run and said, "great job mommy!"

I didn't realize that I have the best running partner already!

Perrty

"Oh! These are perrty!" Jonathan exclaimed as we were walking back from the mailbox. We stopped and he filled the shopping cart for about 5 min. I love this kid!

Best Friends

These two are such good friends! The Warnick's moved to Springville a couple months before we moved to Jerusha's house about a year and a half ago. Matt & Sarah and Michael & I were instant friends. Tennyson is a month younger than Jonathan and they got to play a couple times before we moved.

We're now back and much to our dismay they are moving this Saturday. :-( We have gotten together almost every day and these two love it. It has been fun watching Jonathan and Tennyson play together and make each other laugh. We're so glad we got to know this family and we'll miss them. Jonathan will especially miss his dear friend Tennyson.

Enunciate

Two really funny things just happened while we were eating lunch. First, Jonathan told me his fingers were stuck in his high chair straps so I told him to pull them out. He blew on them and slid them free... he heard "blow them out". A little later I said "just kidding", he heard "just kitten" and said back, "just meow". He's a fun kid!

Moving days

Yesterday we moved from my sister's house in Woods Cross back to our townhouse in Springville. We're not sure all of our stuff will fit back here, but we're going to try (especially because it is currently all in our living room!).

Today is the "great unpack" and we have lots of work to do. So far breakfast was eaten while sitting on the kitchen floor, Jonathan's only thing he has to play with is our iPad, he has no clothes (at least I can see the box, right?) and the only space for him to play is in front of our front door.

Bubbles

This little man is getting so big. He loves being outside and one thing he really enjoys is blowing bubbles.

Big Boy

We had a beautiful day yesterday so we walked to the park. Jonathan tried out the big kid swing and the tall slide. He didn't like that he couldn't go high on the swing but he loved the slide. We spent two hours outside and loved every minute of it!

Master Detective

This little stinker found my iPad hiding place yesterday. I can't hide anything from him!

Date Night

Last Friday we rode the train as part of our date. Jonathan absolutely loved it. He couldn't stop looking out the windows trying to take it all in. We will definitely do that again!

Talented

Yesterday Jonathan says to me "picture me do this" and then he curled his tongue. He was so proud of himself! He's a talented little kid. :-)

Friday, February 7, 2014

Guess who finally slept in past 6?! It's been over a month that he hasn't been sleeping his normal 11 to 12 hours per night. This morning he didn't wake up till.... 7:45! However he was up in the middle of the night for a hour, but I'll take the later wake up time with an hour awake in the middle of the night over waking up at 5 and sometimes earlier for the day!

Update

Jonathan was only in his big boy bed for two or three days. We're back to a crib. He's happy to be back in it and I'm happy he's taking naps again! And we can make cool forts now!

My mom recently inherited this rocking chair from her dad. Jonathan loves to sit in it and rock. It's pretty cool because his great great great grandfather made it! I hope we get it someday.

And yesterday we went down to the BYU devotional to see my mission president speak. He did a great job! On the way home we decided to surprise daddy at work. Michael was so excited to see us and Jonathan loved meeting new friends.

Mischievous

Jonathan found a sharpie while I was in the shower and decided to do a little damage. He colored on his face and on the glass lid. I guess he is trying to leave his mark at Jerusha's house. Luckily it wasn't on the counter, but that pan is my sister's. Stinker!

Way Too Smart

Jonathan loves to play with the iPad. He has gotten really good at navigating it and he even teaches my dad new ways to do things almost daily. Because of his great love for the iPad most of my family has put a passcode on theirs. Well I made the huge mistake of trying to teach him my sister Celeste's passcode. He learned it really quickly! Neat trick right? He knows her four-number sequence. Niki thought it was pretty cool and taught him hers. I was not about to tell him mine because I just know he'd find my iPad and play when I don't want him to.

Well he had a sneaky idea. For the past week or so he'd always ask "me watch mommy unlock it." Harmless right? WRONG! He now knows my passcode and only from watching me.

Dang. Outsmarted by a 2-year-old!

Big Kid

He is very excited about his big kid bed. I hope it goes well or we may be back to a crib!

Wal-Mart

Jonathan really enjoyed our trip to Wal-Mart today. I hope Michael and I like these pillows as much as Jonathan does!

Silly Kid

This is how Jonathan looked after his nap this afternoon. I guess he was warm and instead of taking his blanket off he decided his shirt was a better option.

Play-Doh

Jonathan brought Ruff over to play play-doh with him this morning. I think he was really getting into it. :-)

Early Morning

The past couple mornings have been really early... like 5 AM early. Not sure why this little guy is waking up but he sure won't go back to sleep. This morning was no different. After an early bowl of cheerios he ended up in his toy box talking on the phone and teaching his toys to count to ten! I love him and I wish I had his energy and I really wish he'd go back to sleeping in till 7 or 8.

Rain, Shine or...

Snow! This kid loves to ride his bike!

Naughty

Someone locked himself in the bathroom then started playing in the toilet water. Awesome.

Future Artist

I'm pretty sure Jonathan will be an artist of some kind when he gets older. He loves to color and he loves listening to and playing music. He is so much fun!

Pillow blanket

He is pretty excited about the pillow blanket he made.

Curious

Lately Jonathan has been very interested in all of the items on our bathroom counter. We have put most of them up high because we will find him "putting chapstick on" with Michael's deodorant or "cleaning his ears" and all of the q-tips end up out of the box. Today he was asking to use my hairspray as chapstick so I showed him what it is really used for. :-)
