Ouch!

I. Love. Soccer.
So, Friday night I went with my friend to play on her indoor soccer team. I haven't played in awhile, but I love it. About 10 minutes into the game I jumped up for the ball and landed on my foot wrong and rolled my ankle. It hurt. Here are some pictures.

This is the night of, after I took my shoe and sock off at home:

And here is two days after:

And here is this morning (three days after):

It is really swollen, if you couldn't tell, but it is feeling better. I am walking on it and was able to walk a little today without a limp. The worst part is, I think, that I can't fit into some of my shoes. It will get better though, and it is not a break, just a sprain, so I am grateful for that!

Mr. Fix-it

Monday night for FHE we finally decided to fix our kitchen faucet. It has leaked ever since we moved in... oops. I had been looking online so I could get an idea of what I wanted our new one to be like. I was looking for good deals, but it was looking like what I wanted was going to cost anywhere from $80-$200 (we were hoping to find one at the low end). Well we went to Lowe's and I saw a clearance shelf. On that shelf was our faucet! The only problem was that it fit a 3 hole sink and ours is a 4 hole sink. I still picked it up and carried it around (I felt like I was black Friday shopping and someone would take it from me if I wasn't careful). It was only $37!!!! I told Michael they have caps that you can put to cover a hole in your sink for situations like ours. He didn't believe me and kept telling me that that faucet wouldn't work. We looked for a different faucet, but I didn't like any that were even close to a good price. We were about to put my faucet back when Michael decided to ask someone if those hole covers exist... THEY DO! Yay! We bought it, got a screamin' deal, and took it home for Michael to work his magic. I got some pictures:

Aren't you all so glad you got to see his plumber's crack? He was really excited for me to post that picture. This project helped Michael to see just how handy he is around the house. He did a great job and there has been not-a-one leak so far!

While I was at work the same day he also fixed our bathroom faucet, but this one he took apart and tightened stuff up so we didn't have to buy a new one! He saved us lots of bucks!

Way to go Michael!

Niki's Leaf Pile

I was up at Niki's house on Saturday afternoon. She asked me to come outside and help her rake her leaves. Well I got outside and there was this beautiful tree with all the leaves gone. We made a huge pile... so we took pictures of me jumping in the leaves. :)

That's it. That was the extent of our leaf pile fun.

Happy Veterans Day

Michael is a Navy veteran. He was stationed at Pearl Harbor for 3 years of his 5 years and 5 months in the Navy. He sailed on the USS PORT ROYAL (CG-73). Here she is:

Often people will ask Michael where he served a mission for our Church. Well he joined the Church right before he went into the Navy so he likes to tell people that his mission was to send terrorists to Spirit Prison so they could be taught the Gospel. :)

Anyway, we hope you all have a great Veterans Day! I am very grateful for all those who are currently serving and all those who have served our country! Thank you!

Paid To Play

Oriah and I made a last minute decision to catch Toy Story 3 at the dollar theatre last night. Before heading out the door she grabbed one of our McDonald's Monopoly game pieces for a free medium fry. While in the drive-thru I saw a dime on the ground so I snagged it. Sweetness! McDonald's paid us to eat their fries last night! Then we got to the theatre and whipped out a Cinemark gift card we received months ago but had yet to use. Turns out the card had $50 on it! We can watch dollar movies for an entire year with that bad boy! It was a great night!

Warranty is Up...

We hit the big 30,000 mile mark on my car today. Michael took it in to make sure all was well before we hit that momentous mile. He pulled into the dealership at 29,990... cutting it close. All is well with Stella. She's a good car. We hope to get many many many more miles out of her!

No Doughy Donuts!

Halloween dinner was at Niki's house on Sunday. She made crepes for us all... she is the Crepe Master. They were yummy! Then she and I made donuts. It was our first time... and we were successful! Here I am cutting out the donuts:

And here is the Master Chef (notice all the paper towels we put up so we wouldn't get grease splashing on everything):

And here is the first one, we were so proud:
Along the way we undercooked some, but by the end we got it down pat. It helped that we made a name for our donut shop. :)
