Shoveling

This morning we went out and shoveled twice. Here's Jonathan's beautiful hat hair after we came in the second time. As soon as we got in he disappeared into my bedroom. When I went to find him he had two tissues that he was using to erase the dry erase board and then wipe his nose, thus the black mustache. So he's got a 'stache to go with his new 'do!

Milk

This little man loves milk. The other day we were at Niki's having cereal... he drank the milk out of both of our bowls when we finished.

New Shoes

Jonathan got new shoes. We tried these ones on first and he wouldn't let me take then off of him. Needless to say someone loves Elmo!

"I color face mirror!"

Jonathan took a pen, went into my closet and looked in the mirror while he drew on his face. He came out so proud and exclaimed, "I color face mirror!"

O Christmas Tree

This is the first year in our married life that we put up a Christmas tree. Jonathan has loved every minute of it. He's been such a good helper. Michael told me last night this is the first Christmas tree he has had since high school.

Early Morning

What were you doing at 6:15 this morning? We were out enjoying the snow while daddy shoveled. :-)

Boots

Jonathan got new boots this weekend and insisted on wearing them this morning. He's excited for the snow to come!

Black Friday

Niki, Celeste and I ventured out at 5 a.m. Friday morning for some shopping fun. Now that most stores open on Thanksgiving the crowds aren't bad when you wait till the actual black Friday shopping. We filled Niki's car before 8 a.m.! We did it just in time to have met up with our mom so Celeste took Niki's car home and Niki and I hopped in mom's car for more shopping. What a fun morning of shopping!

The bottom right picture is the 1 lb. Snickers bar I bought for a gift, but decided Michael and I should eat it instead. :-) So far it is delicious!

Thanksgiving

I was put in charge of the centerpiece at our Thanksgiving table. Here is what I made. We had a lot of fun as a family. It was a relatively small group this year, only 13 people.

This year I'm thankful for my family, our savings that made it possible to pay for some unexpected medical bills, iPads so we can facetime Jerusha in Africa every day, friends and much more.

Last Drop

Aunt Niki has helped Jonathan cultivate his love for music (especially rap, much to Michael's dismay). Here's the latest he's learned from her. (Don't worry it's a Sprite bottle)

Babysitter

This morning we were playing up at grandpa's and it was getting close to lunchtime. My dad asked me if I wanted to go grab a pizza and he'd stay and watch Jonathan. I said sure, but asked him to please make sure Jonathan didn't fall asleep (he was up at 4:30 this morning and I wanted him to make it to naptime). My dad agreed and off I went. I got home less than 15 min later to this. I guess next time I should include that my dad also should stay awake. :-)

Blanket

We're at Celeste's house watching Elmo in her basement. It's a little chilly so Celeste asked Jonathan if he wanted a blanket. He said "yes" and without taking his eyes off the tv he grabbed this pillow and put it on his lap. :-)

Big Boy

Michael and I decided a couple of weeks ago that we wanted to get rid of Jonathan's paci. Last week I finally took the plunge and cut a hole in the top of his paci. He wasn't a big fan, but he still used it. He asked a couple times for a "new one." It's been a rough week of sleeping and he has gone more than half of the days without naps. I was starting to question my timing, but after talking to Tina, my sister-in-law, I decided to keep with it. This morning I cut the paci in half so it split like a banana and when he found it he kept saying it was "broke." He then threw it in the garbage. And here he is after his nap (that he actually took today!!). He took a nap today without his paci!

Busted

Jonathan pushed the bar stool around to get into Niki's drawer that she keeps her iPod, speakers and headphones in. I guess he knows how to get what he wants.

Notice in the second picture how the cord that is hooked into the iPod is white and the headphone cord is black? The music was playing on the speakers but he just loves those headphone. :-)

Rainy Day

This morning Jonathan learned to hold an umbrella. He loved our walk in the rain!

Now he is sharing his iPad time with Elmo making sure he can see. And snuggling him so close! He is so nice!

New Sidekick

He is in heaven! Jonathan loves Elmo so much!

Sporting the Skinny Jeans

Although they are a bit long Jonathan is wearing his skinny jeans today. He got them from his great aunt Alyson for his birthday. He looks pretty cute if you ask me. :-)

Broken Glass

We're over at Aunt Niki's house this morning. Niki and I were in her bedroom and Jonathan was in the bathroom. All of a sudden we heard a huge crash including the sound of glass breaking. This is what we found. (After we calmed him down we took this picture. He was really scared at first.)

Stool

This little man has discovered how to use this stool to his advantage. He uses it to get up to the sink and kitchen counters, to get on our bed, to turn on the radio in his room and much more. He's a smart little kid!

Thrifty

I mounted four of Jonathan's pictures from his recent photo shoot on foam core board then hung them up. I like how they look and I saved us a whole lot of money. I got a quote to do something like this... it was around $100. I spent about $5! I feel pretty good about that.

We've got a talker on our hands. Jonathan has been learning new words every day."Snow" has recently been added to his vocabulary. He loves it! He also is quite the little stinker. This morning he confiscated Michael's apple as he was leaving it work. :-)

Some of his other favorites are oatmeal, his kitty, Elmo and the iPad.

Yep

The other day we were in the living room and Jonathan went upstairs and got two diapers. Then he went back up and got his changing pad. He proceeded to open both diapers and lay out his changing pad. Then he laid down on it and said, "yep" while nodding his head.

Incredibles

Michael and Jonathan tried out their costumes at the ward party tonight. Syndrome and Jack Jack... worth all the time put in to make them!

Pink

Michael is so excited to be wearing pink for breast cancer awareness at work today. Can you tell?

Kitty

Jonathan loves his kitty. He lovingly refers to him as "Flash" and involves him in all he does. This morning he let Flash eat first and insisted he get a bib.

Playground

This is one of Jonathan's favorite places to be. And the best part is it is practically in our backyard! This is his favorite slide by far! And... Notice he is smiling? I had to ask him to show me his teeth... It worked!

Where did my little baby go?

Nursery

Two weeks ago was Jonathan's first time going to nursery. Michael and I decided to take the "rip the bandaid off" approach. After Sacrament meeting we both took him to the nursery to find out which class he should be in. We took him to the room, gave him kisses and left. He was not very happy. His teachers assured us that if he cried too long they would bring him to us. And off we went to Sunday School (I now see the great wisdom in the nursery being on the opposite end of the building as the adult classes!).

Michael and I met after our last hour meetings and went to get our little guy. I opened the door and saw kids playing at the table. Jonathan was sitting on a little chair holding his picture he drew just staring straight forward. I had to walk around in front of him for him to see me. When he finally saw me he dropped his paper, got off his chair and came crying to me. His teachers told us that he loved singing time and coloring and he did fine as long as thy didn't look at him or touch him. :)

Then just last Sunday we were told he cried the first half then did well the second. They said he did better. I'm hoping he will soon enjoy going to nursery. Michael and I plan to take his teachers cookies this week. They sure do have a tough calling in the ward. I'm very glad they are willing to serve, they seem to do a great job.

1 Nap

Someone is having a hard time taking one nap per day... It would certainly help if he slept past 5 AM!

3 Months Overdue

Back in November Jonathan got his very first haircut. My friend from high school, Erin, cut his hair while Celeste held him on her lap. He did great... I only had to hold his head still at the very end when she trimmed the back.
Someone didn't make it through lunch today.

Sneaky J

Someone got my phone off the counter... Can you see him?

The little stinker took it off the counter and ran to hide. When I went to get him, after I took pictures of course, he knew right away that he was busted. He started giggling and pushing as many buttons as he could before I took it away from him. :)

Oops

Jonathan ate a sticker today.

Uh Oh

He can navigate it better than his parents!

New Sunday Outfit

Jonathan finally grew into his new church outfit! Here are a couple pictures of the handsome little man:

Books

Jonathan is starting to really love books. His current favorite is called "Pete the Puppy." He pulls it off the shelf for me to read it all the time. Here he is reading on his own:

Yesterday in church we talked about a talk given by President Dieter Uchtdorf called "Of Regrets and Resolutions" Something that was talked about is how important it is to spend time with the ones we love. I have noticed lately when Jonathan and I are home during the day that if I try and get too many things done around the house then he starts getting mad at me and I In turn get frustrated that he is not letting me get the dishes or the laundry or whatever it is done. I have noticed that when I put those things aside And just spend quality time with him we are both so much happier. I sure do love being home with Jonathan!

First Attempt

This is my first attempt at getting back into blogging (it will be short and sweet so I have more to write about in the future). :) Here's to hoping it sticks. I still need to work on my blog book project so I can have more space on here, but for now I just deleted some videos.

We have successfully moved into my sister Jerusha's house. She has been in Africa for two weeks now. We sure do miss having her around, but it has been nice to be closer to family.

We had a very fun-filled Christmas holiday with the entire family here before Jerusha left. Tyson and his family were here for a couple of weeks and we were very sad to see them go, but Spencer and his family were in town till yesterday so Jonathan and I didn't have to go back to real life until then. Jonathan loves playing with his cousins. He is turning into quite the little bully though. We sure will miss having all of them around.

Here is a picture of the whole gang:
