10 Months Old

We were in Minnesota the day Jonathan turned 10 months old... so we took advantage of Mackenzie's photography talent. The first three were taken the day he turned 10 months... the others were taken on Sunday evening.

Look! I have 3 teeth now!

Who Knew...IQ

A company I've been interviewing with uses both an IQ and Personality test to size up applicants. Of the two tests, I've been most interested to know how I fared on the IQ test as I don't recall having taken one previously. The test was timed at 12 minutes long and there were a total of 50 questions. If I recall correctly I think I finished answering question #41 as my time expired but the questions seemed to be getting progressively harder which led me to believe I was doing well. A few days after the first interview I asked the interview coordinator if they'd release my scores to me regardless of the outcome of the interview. She responded that she could not so I've been left wondering. Well, this afternoon I had interview #2 and the Vice President of the Department that's hiring told me that I scored very high on the IQ test; in fact, higher than his score! "Well above average" or something along those lines. Even if I tanked today's interview - which I don't think I did - that bit of news made my day. When I got home I shared with Oriah how it's funny that I sometimes get down on myself regarding the career slump I perceive I'm in but in all reality I've got plenty of talent and smarts to do anything. Anyway, I couldn't resist: I looked up an IQ scale to see what it looked like.

Over 140 - Genius or almost genius
120 - 140 - Very superior intelligence
110 - 119 - Superior intelligence
90 - 109 - Average or normal intelligence
80 - 89 - Dullness
70 - 79 - Borderline deficiency in intelligence
Under 70 - Feeble-mindedness

I wonder if I should include this on my resume now? Just kidding. But it was nice feedback, even a compliment, to receive indeed.

New Tooth and a New Trick

On July 24th Jonathan finally got his right top middle tooth!

He also found the drawers in the kitchen.

It started off that he used them to stand

Then one opened

And then this

And this

I guess it is time to open these!

Peas and Carrots

Here is Jonathan in the process of venting about how I made him eat his peas and carrots for lunch. He yelled at me like this as I was wiping his face then after I got him down he started venting to the TV. So glad I caught it on video!

Apparently he feels the same way about them as I do. :)

His Many Faces

Jonathan has many fun faces. Recently he learned how to do a surprised face. :)

And this is Jonathan making sure that Alex's metal is real. Alex recently got 2nd place in my parents' city 5K. Way to go Alex!

Lately

Jonathan can eat yogurt now. He seemed to really like it... not sure if he preferred it in his mouth or on his tray better. :)

Michael got a couple of boxes of chips from work. I decided Jonathan may like playing in one of them. He kept throwing out the chips then he finally had enough and tried to climb out. :)

Jonathan loves to stand up. He climbs all over everything just trying to get up on his two feet. He gets into everything... keeping me on my toes. Here he is finding a newspaper.

He has so much energy and loves getting around on his own. He is always getting into cords and anything that he shouldn't. Sadly he has taken many tumbles. Just today, within five minutes, he fell face first on the tile, hit his head on the wall corner, and face planted it on the carpet. Poor guy. My dad says we need to get him a helmet. :) He's just learning to be tough!

Sleepover and Pool Party at Al's

A couple weeks ago Michael, Jonathan, and I went to my aunt Alyson's house for a sleepover and pool party. Alyson was so great and offered to watch Jonathan while Michael and I went to dinner.

On the way to her house Jonathan fell asleep. He was not about to let anyone take his jumper:

And here are swimming pictures:

He could be in the pool all day
