Fall Scrimmage

The fall lacrosse scrimmage/clinic was held earlier this morning at Westminster College. As usual BYU and Westminster were there. The new team on the block - Utah - came as well.

Glad they came too! Every day is a great day when you beat the Utes!

Thanks to Oriah for making this cool picture just for this blog post!

Engage-iversary

Tomorrow (the 30th) marks one year since our engagement! It was fun remembering buying her ring a year ago today and all the planning that had taken place to surprise Oriah last year as we drove to campus this morning. It's such a special time of year for us! To celebrate the occasion we're heading up to the city tonight. We won a free night stay at a Marriott hotel. We also have reservations at P.F. Chang's (where we had dinner a year ago) and then we'll catch a show at the symphony. It's going to be a great time! AND! In less than two months we'll be in Hawaii for our honeymoon!

Hijacked

My hotmail account was hijacked today. So lame! Don't worry, I got on and changed my password and set it to have me change it every 72 days. And I deleted all of my contacts that I never use anymore. I only use my hotmail account for the MSN chat feature... so now I have 7 contacts. It should be much easier to fix a hijack in the future if I only have 7 people, whom I currently talk to often, to reconcile with. :) Sorry if you got a crazy email from me with just a link. I don't know what it is...

Success!

Dinner was a success! My mom was so proud of me. :) We started with some chips and spider dip:

Here is the main course. Baked pumpkins with a casserole inside. Niki is being a jack-o-lantern:

And here are the dinner guests:

We had a lot of fun. After dinner we played Scum and Canasta. We love spending time with family!

Halloween Meal

My family is coming down on Sunday for a Halloween meal. I've been trying to find fun ideas for the meal. I have some things planned, but I'm afraid they will take a lot of time. This could get really tricky. Wish me luck this weekend! I'll report back next week with pictures. :)

Penny Pancakes

Sunday morning when we woke up I asked Michael if I could make Penny Pancakes for breakfast. He said, "Sure! Are those just small pancakes?" I told him they were not and that it was going to be a surprise.

Background: A favorite breakfast around our house when we were growing up was penny pancakes. Anytime my mom made pancakes for breakfast we would beg for her to make penny pancakes. A penny pancake is easy to make. All you do is make the pancake batter, then cut up a hot dog into small slices to make your "pennies." Pour the pancake batter on the griddle then add your "pennies" and cover them with batter. Now before you get all uppity and think this is nasty just think about a corn dog. It's essentially the same thing.

I was nervous to serve them to Michael because I know he has a very picky palate. Guess what?!? He liked them! Yay!!!! If you like corn dogs at all you really should try these. YUMMY!
