The press is reporting that Pakistani doctor Shakil Afridi has been sentenced to 33 years in jail for "treason" in his alleged role assisting the U.S. in locating and killing Usama bin Laden. This bothers me... I find the situation extremely interesting in the sense that who has been held accountable in the Pakistani government for harboring Usama bin Laden while the world was trying to track him down and bring him to justice?
In news at home: For the first time, Jonathan rolled over from his back onto his stomach. He's in the two-way roller club now!

A First
Last night we had corn on the cob as part of our dinner. Here is what Michael found in the first ear:
We threw it away. :)

Happy Birthday Michael!
Today my wonderful husband turned 35! Whoa... he is old! :) Jonathan and I gave him his presents this morning before he went to work.
Michael likes to hike and we both want to be more active... so I got him the following:
(A book with some hikes around the area)
(A hiking backpack for Jonathan to sit in)
For Michael's birthday cake he got strawberry glazed donuts (Jonathan had a hard time handing them over!):
And here is Michael trying out the backpack... who wouldn't sit on the ground to put it on? Seems like the best way to do it. :)
We are now equipped with what we need to go on lots and lots of hikes this summer. Happy birthday Michael! We love you!!

Happy Mother's Day
I love my wife :) She's a great wife! She's funny and puts up with my nonsense. We have a pretty fun time of things. And she's a fantastic mum. I love watching her with Jonathan. Jonathan is a very happy baby boy....always smiling and talking it up. And I know that it has been Oriah's good influence that has helped shape his bubbly personality. One little, happy family are we. I'm one fortunate man.
In other news...also made official on Mother's Day...it appears that Jonathan's first word is: Dada. More like: Da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da, and so on. But take any section of that string of baby talk and you get Dada :) I suppose my good influence on our little man is a sense of timing.

7 Months Old
Jonathan loves trying new foods, making noises, banging toys together, playing with empty water bottles (they make lots of noise), and eating paper. He still LOVES walks and likes to swing with mommy. He loves to laugh and be the center of attention. We love him a lot and can't believe he is already 7 months old!

Hives
After Alex's graduation ceremony we grabbed some lunch then Michael and I took Jonathan to meet our friend Larry. When we got there Michael noticed something on his cheek. Luckily we caught my mom before she had left town and had her look at it. She said he could be allergic to his medicine he was taking for his ear infection. What? He had just finished his 10 days of taking it that morning and now it is showing up? We took him right to the doctor. While we waited for the doctor a little spot on his shoulder became a BIG spot on his shoulder by the time he came in. Jonathan takes after his mommy... he's allergic to amoxicillin. Can you tell? It started on his right cheek and a small spot on that right shoulder... this is how it looked when we got home. Thank goodness for benadryl!
And somehow he was still happy.
Alex Graduates
Today is Alex's birthday so I decided I should blog about his graduation. My parents, Michael, Jonathan, and I were all able to go cheer him on. He didn't trip while walking across the stage... we were all so proud of him. :)
Alex came to our house before he went over so I took some pictures of the stud:
After he left I helped Jonathan practice his cheering:
And here he is folks:
Proud (shorter) parents, and (even shorter) siblings:
